A small organisation set up by friends
Helping Liverpool's Homeless
ROOF is a small organisation set up by Lauren Newman and a group of friends who decided to spend time by helping feed and clothe homeless people in Liverpool. We set up a pop-up kitchen at St. Lukes Church (known as the Bombed-Out Church) to serve hot and cold food, hot drinks, snacks, clothes and underwear, toiletries and warming company.
To help the Liverpool homeless, ROOF plans regular outings and runs entirely on volunteers giving their own donations; whether this be food and drinks, clothing, toiletries, kind messages, or their time and energy as we get together during outreach evenings.
ROOF loves the community spirit and team efforts which prove that by working together we really CAN make a real difference. By the same "working together" ethos, we also work in conjunction with other support groups and we signpost our homeless friends to other support providers and welfare services.
We are kindly supported by Adapt Outdoors, the great outdoor retail shop in Liverpool, which is a drop-off point for donated supplies. Details are provided here.
